Diva's challenge #172 : Duotangle - Auraknot vs Mooka,

I cannot miss this one, they were the 2 first tangles I ever learned!!! It was in January last year!
I hope you all are going to like my ZIA.

After some health issues ( 10 days at the hospital instead of 3 weeks in Europe with Tristan and my husband!!!!) I hope I am going to be able to keep up with all the missing "Tangle Harmony, Life imitates Doodles... and more". The only ZIA I have made lately are the 2 last Diva's challenges.

Diva's challenge #171

Dear Laura,
When I saw the weekly challenge about the pearls of courage the first person who came to my mind was my grandson Tristan.
Tristan is 8 year old now, but when he was 2 days old he was diagnose with severe Hemophilia B.
Hemophilia B is a rare genetic disorder which effects approximately 1 in 20,000 newborn males worldwide.
There are 3 levels of gravity, mild, moderate and severe. As I wrote earlier, Tristan is severe, means that he has less than 1% of the factor IX in his blood.  After genetic and blood tests, we know that his body makes no factor IX.
That means that he is bruising very easily, but most of all, it means that if his level of factor IX is below 1%, he is susceptible to spontaneous bleeds in the joints.  He could be playing legos and one of his joints might start bleeding internally, even without bumping himself. He also may bleed internally during his sleep….. Kind of scary situation.
The first 17 months of his life, my daughter took him to the ER so many times, the nurses had so many difficulties to stick h
im (one time, after 7 or 8 none successful sticks, my daughter told the nurse to stick him in the vein he has on his head, at that point he was crying so hard, the vein was very obvious).
So she decided to ask the Hematologist to do a surgery, in order to give to Tristan an implanted port. From that time, we all learn how to stick him (we also call it infuse him), my daughter, Tristan’s father, me (the grandmother), my husband (Tristan’s grandfather) and my second daughter. From that time, no more runs at the ER, except for 2 changes of the port, one in 2010 and the last one in 2014, last March because port have a limited “lifetime”.  One average, Tristan’s ports last about 3 years. We give him the factor he is missing every Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. With this routine he is “safe”.
But if he falls or bumps himself hard we give him an immediate infusion of 100% of the factor. We were told not to wait :”when in doubt it is better to stick than later on regret to not have infused and Tristan has to deal with bleeding in his joints or having a huge hematoma (a bruise with accumulation of blood under the visible bruise)”.
The bleeding in the joints (elbows, knees, ankles, shoulders) are very dangerous, because the blood destroys the cartilage and the joint may become swollen and be damaged for the rest of his life.

The Diva #158 "Duotangle: The Diva dance + Crescent moon"

First I was not very inspired.......
and I let the idea in my head for 2 or 3 days, and visit the others' tangles,
and here is what I have done yesterday evening.
You know when the home is calm, dinner is done,
Dominique (my Husband) in front of a movie or reading the news on his computer...
and me at the dining table with my papers, sakura markers.......

Then I did what I usually do to get inspiration from the Best!!!
I copy the idea and the style of.... this time it was Helen Williams, I love very much her work.
When Laura gives us a new challenge, each time I think "what is Helen gonna do?"

Tackle it Tuesday (TIT) -B patterns-

It was a very busy week for me!! I hope I am not too late.
I enjoy very much this new challenge, I didn't think of that kind of idea.
Now I am wondering "if we take the same idea, but using the letter of the week as a string???"
I may try that one!?

Have a good week everyone,
maybe without rain, here in Europe it has been a very mild and wet winter so far.

Diva challenge #157 and a new Challenge from Artful Creations named : Tackle it Tuesday (TIT)

The Diva Challenge for this week is to use Erin Olson's (the Bright Owl, zendala dare challenge)  tangle : charlie.

Thanks to Laura and Erin for this challenging experience! I liked it a lot.

TIT = Tackle It Tuesday!!
The challenge was to make a tile using only tangle pattern starting by the letter A.
That was very nice, but there are so many tangles starting with A, I may make some other tiles!
Have a good day everyone, stay warm and dry for those who are in the snow or the rain.
Fortunately Spring is coming, February is over right?
That is my way to stay positive!

"it's a string Thing" #26

Copyright image used with permission from TanglePatterns.com

In honor of Jo and her heart shaped string line as Valentine's Day nears - the challenge this week is to use the tangle patterns that you LOVE - your absolute favorites - your "mac 'n cheese" as Marie Thomas calls them.  This will be a sweet way to celebrate won't it?!

This challenge is from Adele Bruno.
Here is my tile using the tangle I prefer lately.

I am a little bit disappointed by my red Sakura marker. Helen Williams' red is more smooth and brilliant, I am going to ask her what kind of marker or color pencils she uses.

Here are some more ZIA I have made these past days.

These past months I have made the 2 other quilts that are going to go in the same room that the one I have made for Tristan and Fantine (see one of my first post).
This one is for Delphine.

The pattern is Storm at sea. There is a little bit of pink, because Delphine is a girl!!!! (sic Tristan). That was my first "big" foundation project, I had made some little things in the past, like wall hangings..
The "take off the paper" part was A LOT OF JOB and very messy! my living room looked like it has been snowing there for several days!!!

This one is for Anthony, a log cabin. With orange, because "Dad is an Auburn fan" (sic Tristan)!!!

Now they are ready to be quilted and I didn't feel like doing it by hand, so I contacted a Longarm quilting lady but she was too busy right now. I need to make some research on a good quilter, somewhere.... I know there is Jane Monk (also CZT) but she is in Australia it is far from the States even from France!!

Thanks for reading my blog. I appreciate it.
I hope my English is understandable!!!! this is not my native language as you all know, I am French!

Have a good day, see you next time.
